The museum, located in the St. Zeno Castle, the most ancient nucleus of the city defence works dating back to 1242. The archaeological section gathers material from prehistory (late 4th-3rd millennium B.C.) to Romanization (1st-2nd-century A.D.) The medieval and modern section keeps paintings, ceramics, ironware and glassware Besides, the museum displays documents on the life and works of Aureliano Pertile (1885-1952) and Giovanni Martinelli (1885-1969), two famous tenors from Montagnana.
